Melda Ilgin, a 10-month old baby drifted far out onto the ocean towards Lesbos. The strong wind and oceans current pushes her while she was sleeping peacefully at the shore of the beach.
Before the family noticed that their baby was gone, she's already drifted 1km out of the sea. Some people tried to save her but they failed.

The Turkish Coastguard was called into action after beachgoers and the child's parents realised that strong winds and ocean currents were swiftly pulling her towards Greece.

Kept alive only because she was sitting inside a child's flotation device, 10-month-old Melda Ilgin was pulled from the ocean when rescuers dived into the water to catch her.

After Melda made it safely back to her family, everyone was relieved and cheered with all their grace.
