The Philippine team in the 2015 FIBA 3×3 U18 World Championship split their opening day games in Debrecen, Hungary.

Filipino teenage sensation Kobe Paras emerged as the leading scorer among all players in the tournament after Day One, with a total of 24 points. Fifteen of which came in a dominant performance against the host Hungary, 19-18.

The Filipinos dropped their first match against Poland, 15-13, in a game where they got off to a 4-1 start but failed to maintain it in the end.

Team Philippines is currently at fourth place in Pool A. The top four teams from the group will advance to the next round of the competition.

The Paras-led squad, including Ateneo’s Mike Nieto, Far Eastern University’s Richard Escoto and La Salle Greenhills’ Ricci Paolo Rivero, will next fight Kazakhstan and Pool A leader Russia on Friday evening Philippine time.
