Bernard Hopkins: Mayweather will defeat Pacquiao!

Jean Pascal and Bernard Hopkins draw at Le Colisee Pepsi

Former Champion Bernard Hopkins believes Mayweather may be knocked down early in the fight  but will go on to defeat Pacquiao on controversial split decision through "boxing IQ and skills".

“The first six rounds you’re going to get your money’s worth. Manny Pacquiao has had more early round knockouts in the past five years than Mayweather has had in the past 10 years," he told Boxing Insider. "I see Mayweather being stalked early, getting angles from the southpaw and being knocked down one or two times."

“Floyd Mayweather Jr. will have to dig deep and go to the well on this one, but I believe because of his boxing IQ and skills, he will pull out a close split or maybe controversial decision.”

In preparation for his May 2 super fight with Filipino Champ Manny Pacquiao, Undefeated American Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. the WBA/WBC welterweight champion already seems to be in fighting form as he continues to dominate and brutalize his sparring partners.

According to his uncle Jeff Mayweahter, Floyd's most recent victim was former champion Zab Judah.
"[Floyd] Just beat the sh*t out of him. He beat Judah so bad."

"Judah was scared to let his hands go."

"Everybody was just hyped because they thought Judah was going to be something different, but Judah wasworse than the other guys."

According to Jeff, "He's [Zab Judah] in shape. He's got a fight coming up".
"But the thing is, Floyd, he's on a different level right now. It may be just his mind, and all the bullsh*t he's been dealing with with Manny over the years." "Obviously, he's taken that in some kind of way, and I mean, he's punishing these guys."

In 2006, Zab Judah lost to Floyd via Unanimous decision. However, Judah started well and, for the first two rounds, appeared as quick and as pinpoint as Mayweather . Mayweather's gloves touched the canvas in Round 2 after a short Judah right hook but it was incorrectly deemed a slip by the referee. The momentum shifted in Round 5 when Floyd hurt Zab with a sweet combination to the face. Mayweather then connected on a right hand to Judah's nose, causing it to bleed.

USADA On Pacquiao And Mayweather: Fail Drug Test And You're In Trouble!

[caption id="attachment_619" align="aligncenter" width="620"](Source:latestonsports) (Source:latestonsports)[/caption]

The biggest boxing event will finally happen this May 2nd 2015. A battle between pound for pound kings.

From here on until fihgt night, the US Anti-Doping Agency can come down knocking on the doors of Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr.
At any given time, day and night, USADA can gather pee or blood tests (or both) from either contender.

The Los Angeles Times reported yesterday that any boxer who will test positive for any illegal substance recorded by USADA will confront a four-year restriction from the game.

At their age, Mayweather being 38 and Pacquiao at 36, a four-year suspension is similar to a pink slip.

Both Pacquiao and Mayweather consenting to USADA methodology demonstrates an agreeable expectation on their part to verify that battle is battled on even terms.
“It’s a strong statement of the importance of clean and safe competition to have these two fighters voluntarily agree to have a WADA level anti-doping program implemented for this fight,” USADA chief Travis Tygart told the LA Times.

“We commend them for their stand for clean sport and the message it sends to all those who want to compete clean at the highest levels of all sport,” he added.

In their recent fights, Both fighters had undergone drug-testing many times and neither of them has failed any.

WATCH: Miguel Cotto believes Manny Pacquiao Has The Advantage Against Floyd Mayweather Jr.

manny-pacquiao-miguel-cotto

WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto thinks Pacquiao is going to give Floyd Mayweather Jr a ton of issues with his hand speed in their battle on May second.

Cotto didn't come right out and say that he supposes Pacquiao will win the battle, yet he does assume that Mayweather will battle with Pacquiao's hand pace and the force of his shots when he's on the assault.
During an interview, Cotto said, “I’ve been working with Freddie Roach for the last two fights, and I know what he’s capable of doing with Manny,” Cotto said via ESPN’s First Take. “I think he’s going to get Manny through Floyd’s mistakes. Manny is going to take advantage of…I’m rooting for Manny. I think the explosiveness and quickness of Manny is going to have a big impact on Floyd’s performance. The explosiveness will be an advantage. He can move from point to point in less than a second.”
